Cynth received an email from an unknown source. Calling himself Fiend, he warned that I-Vee would soon be launching his next attack in the next few hours. His virus is ready, codenamed program WWX (World War X). The program would followusers clicking on the popular buying and gaming sites, and attack their computers and networks. Another infection area is the free advertising site set up by I-Vee's web site design company. As long as there is internet connection, all data would be affected. Fiend warned Cynth not to trace him; he is a friend and would work alone to stop I-Vee. Trying to trace him would expose him to danger.

Cynth was in a turmoil; was the name intentionally misspelled – Friend or Fiend. She showed the email to her friends, and they were at a loss, unsure what to do within that short period. Furthermore, Fiend did not mention which on-line buying or gaming sites. They could not possibly close off the internet connection or shut down the server of each site.

Meanwhile I-Vee was elated –in a few hours he would rule the world and no one could stop him this time. He had resolved the earlier problems – there was now a central server for each country, instead of the previous one server per region. He had planned a dinner for his team to celebrate their success. He was talking to his girlfriend about a real-life holiday (no more virtual vacations) when a high alert cut across his screen. He cut his girlfriend off abruptly to take up the call. His second-in-command, Louse was terrified, telling him that the unexpected happened. I-Vee chuckled asking if the information had come in faster than scheduled. Louse was almost in tears as he told I-Vee that the program had cannibalized itself, transferring data out of their systems instead. I-Vee logged onto his system and saw the reverse process happening. He gave immediate instructions to close off the internet connection and shut down all systems!

Cynth shortly received a message on her messenger from Fiend. 'Mission aborted successfully. The evil shall be defeated' Cynth constantly thought about Fiend - friend, angel or devil in disguise!
