I did a lot of research when I was looking for a web developer. Going to several search engine sites and it would bring up spam offers for booking on-line. As myself the consumer looking for a web developer, I didn't understand why I would be booking on-line and not my site generating it. From what I was understanding, it sounded like spam, the 3rd wheel was trying to earn from my business as they call it "hidden fees". They have lot of affiliates that generate sales for them. So I continued on another search engine site to see if booking on-line is common with web developers or if it is just plain out spam.

What I learned is that you need to make sure your site that you want built will be generating the income and not the web developer getting your share from the site. You are paying them to make your site and also ask if the site will show up in a search engine. While yes you want to make money but you also want to be sure your talented web developer gets credit for his/her talented work at the same time as well.

There can be a lot of sites that are spam so look over them with a fine tooth comb. When a site advertises on the landing page a special deal and you click the link and cannot figure out how to book the deal, all of a sudden prices doubled just by clicking a link! I would believe it is spam. You are being offered one thing and it is generating something totally different.

I learned that just by typing in the search engine to do it yourself you would probably be better at making your own site than paying someone else and worrying about losing profits. Look in the phone book, speak to other businesses for their point of view. You might be surprised, they may be willing to share their web developer with you and you can have that piece of mind that you won't be getting spammed. Plus they may know the in's and out's of posting on the search engine sites.
